Erasmus+ Time to Say Goodbye: A Week to Remember

Our Erasmus+ mobility in Kristiansand has come to an end, emotions were high on their final day. After a week full of learning and unforgettable experiences, it is time to say goodbye to our wonderful host families, partner school and new friends. Before heading to the airport, they have exchanged contact details and lots of hugs. Many students are already planning to stay in touch and hopefully meet again. This week has been a truly enriching experience, full of cultural discovery, friendship and personal growth. Tusen takk, Kristiansand,  thank you for everything!

Erasmus+ Exploring Nature and Wildlife

Wednesday and Thursday have been dedicated to cultural learning. As part of the Erasmus+ cultural programme in Kristiansand, our group enjoyed two fascinating visits that brought them closer to Norway's natural environment: the Kristiansand zoo and the local botanic gardens. At the Kristiansand Zoo and Amusement Park, students discovered a wide variety of Nordic animals, such as lynxes, wolves and moose, as well as species from other parts of the world. Thursday was dedicated to the botanic gardens at the Agder Natural History Museum. These two visits added a deeper appreciation for the ntural beaurty of NOrway and reminded us how important it is to preserve it.  On Thursday, the group also discovered the ancient roots of the Norwegian population by visiting a viking setting, a reconstruced Viking village, complete with traditional longhouses, wooden boats and everyday tools fromover a thousand years ago. Tuesday - Learning the Norwegian Way

Today, our students have visited the school again and have attended several lessons alongside their Norwegian peers. English and Biology have been two of the subjects they have been able to experience the Norwegian way, both, of course, in English, though some native words are already in their vocabulary.

WORKING ON A PROJECT ABOUT JANE AUSTEN

To celebrate the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen's birth, some students have prepared a beautiful poster with quotes from her books. The activity highlights her wit, insight and timeless contribution to literature, bringing her words tolife in a creative way.

Erasmus+ A Warm Welcome and Cultural Exchange

First day at the partner school in Kristiansand, a day full of excitement and new experiences. After a warm and friendly welcome from the Norwegian students and teachers, our group and their partners took part in a special cultural workshop focused on a traditional Norwegian dance. With the help of enthusiastic instructors, our students learned the basic steps of a typical fork dance. Both Spanish and Norwegian students have danced together, a perfect symbol of the Erasmus+ spirit. In the afternoon, they have had the chance to visit the Museum of Art, as well.

Erasmus+ Discovering Kristiansand: A Tour Through Culture and History

Today, Sunday 6th, students from Kristiansand katedralskole Gimle have prepared a guided tour of their city, a charming coastal city which will host our students for a week. Beginning at the city centre, they have walked through the beautiful pedestrian streets  with colouful wooden houses. Our guides, students from the Norwegian partner school have shared fascinating facts about their city cultural past, from its foundation to its modern cultural hub.
